Spanish ships called galleons begin sailing across the oceans about 500

years as part of the Spanish Treasure Fleet. They were huge, which was good

for holding a lot of treasure. But they were also slow, which was bad

since that meant pirates could catch them. A galleon might have as many as

400 sailors on board, some as young as 8 years old!
