One more unique thing about dolphins & eating – they have TWO stomachs! When they eat the food goes into their first stomach and can stay there for a
long time.
When the dolphin needs more nutrients or energy, some of that food is moved to their second stomach, which is where digestion happens. It’s
almost like dolphins have a
pantry inside them!
