A resource is something that is useful, helpful and provides something you
need.
2. What is fuel?
Fuel is something that provides energy.
3. Other than vehicles, where else is gas used?
Gas also helps airplanes fly, heats our houses, and makes the lawn mower
work!
4. What are fossils?
Fossils are the remains of dead plants and animals in the ground.
5. What do oil wells do?
Oil wells get the oil out of the ground or ocean floor.
6. What kind of oil did the wells in Alberta and BC pump from
the ground?
CRUDE oil from pumpjack wells. Crude oil is a dark liquid with a strong
smell.
7. What does refining mean?
It means to take out the parts that aren’t needed or useful.
8. What’s something GOOD about an oil pipeline? What’s
something BAD?
One good thing is it’s a way to get cheaper gas.
The bad part is it might hurt the land, animals and people.

It’s because a big water “road” called the Strait of Hormuz is closed due
to a war.
