1. Louis Riel was born on October 22nd,1844 and died on November 16, 1885.
2. Louis was the oldest child of eleven siblings; he had five brothers and six sisters.

4. It was agreed that the province of Manitoba would have two official languages: English and French.

7. Louis was charged with treason on July 6th, 1885.
8. He is known as the Father of Manitoba.
9. A provincial holiday was declared in his memory.
10. Louis Riel was 41 year’s old when he died in 1885.
