Settlers who moved west had to make hard choices. They could only take the most important things on their trip.
The floor of a covered wagon was about four feet wide and six to ten feet long.
That’s about the size of a double bed!
Wagons were used for sleeping , riding, and storage. Imagine that you are a settler traveling west with your family.
Write about what you would take and what you would leave behind, and explain why.
