The Rag Man
A long time ago, there was
a job called a “Rag Man.”
These people went door
to door collecting, buying, and selling rag’s.
These scraps of fabric
were useless to people
giving them away, but
very valuable to the rag
man because he sold them
for money.
Just like the scrap of rag
you glued into your
journal, we tend to think
that rags are dirty and not
very useful. But some
people think they are
pretty and make beautiful
quilts from them.
Jesus is kind of like a Rag
Man.
Jesus doesn’t collect rags,
he collects people!
There are many people
who are different from us.
Sometimes when we see
someone, we don’t think
they would make a good
friend.
We think that because we
are only looking on the
outside — all we see is
rags.
Jesus sees people
differently. He loves them
no maer w tt hat they are
like.
Jesus’ love is always there.
His love isn’t based on
what a person looks like,
how they talk, or what
they can do.
Jesus welcomed people
who were sick.
Jesus was friends with
people who were
different.
Jesus spent time with
people who others said
didn’t fit in.
Jesus visited people who
were hard to be friends
with.
As followers of Jesus, it’s
important to ask God to
help us to see and treat
people like God does!
