I helped Ellie with cleaning her fish Light Up’s tank many times. We would use a little net to catch him and put him in a smaller container filled with water from his tank. We would have to loosely put a lid on the container because Light Up liked to jump! Then we would empty the tank and clean it. The gravel would get rinsed out, the decorations would get scrubbed, and the tank would get cleaned. Ellie would scrub and dry the
decorations and tank, then we’d put the cleaned gravel back in. Next we’d
fill the tank with fresh water and put special chemicals in the water to
make it safe for fish. Finally, we’d use the net to move Light Up from the
container back into his tank. Then he was a happy fish!
