Part #2 of my Ela #2

2 minutes

The kinds of animals that I have seen in the place that I live in is. I will also add the facts into this document. I will number them.

#1. Birds. Here are some facts about them. American Goldfinch: American goldfinches like to eat
thistles and sunflower seeds. In fact, they’re some of the strictest vegetarians in the bird world, eating nothing but vegetables unless they accidentally swallow
an insect. American goldfinches make a call
that sounds like “po-ta-to-chip” when flying. American goldfinches show up in
Manitoba from May to October.

#2. Chickens. Here are some facts about them.
Also, different breeds of chickens lay different numbers of eggs.
Some only lay an egg once
in a while, but other breeds
lay lots of eggs.
Buff Orpington hens are good egg layers,
even if they do it in
strange places sometimes. ☺

#3. Dogs. Here is a fact about a breed that my Southern Grandma’s dog Tasha was. Dogs that watch after livestock are commonly called LGDs, short for Livestock Guardian Dogs. Some people call them Livestock Protection Dogs. No matter what you call
them, the name reflects their job: guarding or protecting livestock.

#4. Horse’s. Here are some facts about them. Today let’s talk about the Cold Bloods group of horses. The term Cold Bloods has nothing to do with the horse’s blood. Instead, it refers to the fact most Cold Blood
horses come from colder
areas of the world.
#5. Fish. Here are some facts about them that my Southern Grandma & I learned about. Size: The size of a fish is a big part of determining if it’s predator, prey, or both. A small fish might eat plants, while a medium one
might both eat the small
one AND get eaten by a bigger one. And the big one might not worry about any fish… just
humans. Yep, life as a
fish in the wild can be rough!
