Pinstripe Cookie
1 cup sugar
1 Cup butter or margarine
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Beat until fluffy
Add – 2 1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon poppyseed
1/2 teaspoon almond flavour
1/3 cup maraschino cherries well drained
1/4 teaspoon cherry extract
2 drops red food cooling
3 tablespoons cocoa
Line loaf pan with wax paper. Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat to make soft dough.
Divide dough into 3 parts.
To First dough add poppyseed and almond extract. Pat evenly into loaf pan
To second dough add cherries and cherry extract. Pat evenly and place on top of first dough
Mix cocoa into third dough. Pat evenly and place over second dough. Cover well with plastic wrap and place in fridge overnight.
Take dough out of fridge and lift out of pan with wax paper. Remove paper, cut in half lengthwise, then cut int 1/8 inches wide. Bake at 375 for 4 – 6 minutes.
