The Charter and the Constitution make sure that all the people who live in Canada have the same rights. This includes the rights of women. It was only in 1960 that all Canadian women could vote. This also includes making sure that people with disabilities can get into all public buildings, even in their wheelchairs!
The Charter also makes sure that LGBTQ people have the same rights. It doesn’t matter who you love! I’m so glad that we have the Charter because it helps everyone, including me, feel equal.
