I remember that my father became a bee-keeper.
He started with only a few of the hive’s of the bee’s that were there.
But he liked everything to be REALLY BIG.
I think he had about something like 30 bee-hives that one spring.
That is a lot of the bee-hive’s.
He had to feed them up with the sugar water that was there, before the flower’s began to do the blooming.
One day he told me, “Henry, I want you to help me.
I want you to ride a horse and it will be pulling the sled with a BIG barrel of the sugar water for the bees.
You will be pulling it to where the bees are, across the creek.”
I liked that idea.
He got everything ready and then he helped me get
on the top of Daisy, the horse.
I rode it to where the bees were.
I sat on the top of the horse that was named Daisy, while my Dad took the sugar water that was there, and that he began feed to the bees.
The bee’s did NOT like a horse to be near by it AT ALL, so then they flew in to the horse’s mane, and the horse got REALLY scared and it started to run back to the barn where it came from.
I stayed on the top of the horse’s hanging on to
the hame’s.
I did NOT want to fall off of the horse AT ALL.
My father ran after us, and to call out the horse , and he called for the horse to STOP.
But it did NOT obey AT ALL.
It went straight to the narrow door of the barn and I bent down as low as I could get on top of the horse because I did NOT
want to hurt my self AT ALL on the low door.
The horse knew better than I.
It ran through the door
with out any of the problem’s, and in to it’s very own stall.
Then my Dad came in to the barn, and he helped me off the horse.
That is the end of the true story.
I loved horses and kept
on riding.
