Brown bread recipe
3 cups warm water
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon salt
3 tablespoons oil
3 cups whole wheat flour
3 cups white flour
Make a slurry of all ingredients except flour. Add just enough flour to make slurry. Let rise until doubled and bubbly ( about 30 minutes). Add the rest of the flour, knead until soft, not sticky dough forms. Let rise 45 minutes
Cut dough into 2 pieces. Knead in remaining flour so dough is not sticky.
Roll into loaves, and put into oiled pans. Let rise 45 minutes.
Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes.
Remove from pans, place on baking rack. Try not to cut until bread is cool 😂
