Canada’s Government
There are 3 branches of government in Canada. 1 branch of government is the Executive.
This includes the monarch (Queen Elizabeth right now) and the Prime Minister.
Queen Elizabeth is 95 year’s old.
That is SO VERY OLD.
Queen Elizabeth has been our queen for 70 year’s.
That is a lot of year’s, that queen Elizabeth has been our queen.
Ellise is the French version of the name Elizabeth.
Which is very COOL!
Another branch of government is Parliament. It has 2 parts:
The house of Commons and the Senate.
This is where bills and laws are started and voted on.
The third branch is the judicial system which includes the Supreme Court.
That’s where judges decide if a law is fair. All of these branches of government mean that citizens of Canada have a voice and can be heard. That’s what democracy is!
