American Robin facts
Only robins that live in the far cold north fly south to spend winter where it is warmer. Robins usually gather in big flocs in the winter. They root, or rest, together in trees.
Robins eat berries and other fruits they find in trees and bushes.
They also eat earthworms. A robin hops across the found. Suddenly, it stops. It tilts its head to the side as it spots a worm. The bird quickly grabs the worm with its beak and tugs it out of the ground. Breakfast!
Maybe you have seen a robin looking for earthworms. If you spot a robin running quickly across the ground, keep watching to see whether it catches a worm.
