Interestingly, when compared to their body size, things change.
The hummingbird’s egg is around 25-30 per cent of the mother’s body size.
That means the hummingbird is the size of just 4 of it’s egg’s.
The ostrich, actually
has the smallest egg to it’s body
ratio, which is only around 1-4 per cent of the female body. That
means the ostrich can be as big as 100 of it’s egg’s!
