CHLOE COOLEY
– Chloe was born in Ontario in the 1760s.
– She was born a slave because her parents were both slaves. This was very HORRIBLE!
– Chloe’s White, MEAN owner wanted to sell her to make some money. He thought that Black people should be treated like objects. He wanted to sell Chloe to another slave owner who lived in the US.
– Chloe stood up for herself by screaming, yelling, fighting, kicking and trying her hardest to get off the boat that they wanted her to get on to bring her to her new owner
– There were White people who watched Chloe fight against being sold and they thought that it was TERRIBLE and that slavery shouldn’t happen in Canada
– Chloe’s bravery led to new awareness against slavery and phased out the AWFUL practice in Canada
