The Journey West

“The winter has been toughin Virginia for my family, but I’m NOT sure moving west will provide us a better life. We don’t have a home in Texas, so we will have to build one when we get there.
What about the long journey? I’ve heard that many people havedied during the difficult trip.
My parents and sister live here in Virginia. Texas will be so far away from them. I know we might have a better life in Texas, but I am also worried and a little bit scared of going so far away.
