The Journey West

“My parents just told me we are leaving Virginia and moving to Texas! Daddy says the land in Texas is big, wide and perfect for exploring. I love exploring in the forest behind our house. I bet I can build a fort there too. Daddy said he will teach me to shoot a gun, and I can go hunting with him. I am sad to leave my best friend Samson. He lives down the street. Momma said we will travel west on a covered wagon. I’ve never ridden on a covered wagon before, but it sounds exciting. I think the trip to Texas will be one big adventure!
